The selected mode is saved automatically and restored the next time the adapter is powered on. A steady white light indicates operating status.

3. Compatibility and Power Requirements

  • Confirm that your laptop uses a compatible 7.4 × 5.0 mm charging port.
  • Select the appropriate mode for your laptop and ensure your charger can supply the required power. Selecting a higher mode does not increase the charger’s rated output.
  • The red mode is intended for devices requiring less than 150W and is unsuitable for high-power operation.

4. Troubleshooting

If the button does not respond, the LED flashes, or the laptop displays an adapter warning:

  1. Disconnect the adapter from the laptop.
  2. Check the power connections and ensure the button opening is clean and unobstructed.
  3. Disconnect power for 10 seconds, then reconnect it.
  4. Verify the selected mode before reconnecting the laptop.

If the issue continues, contact customer support.

5. Care and Safety

Keep the adapter dry and protect it from moisture. Do not disassemble or attempt to repair it yourself.

VI. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: The button does not respond. What should I do?
Check the power connection and make sure the button surface is clean and unobstructed. If the issue persists, disconnect power for 10 seconds and restart.

Q: Can I skip gears directly?
No. Skipping a gear is not supported — you must cycle through sequentially from Gear 1 to Gear 5.

Q: What does a flashing LED light mean?
A flashing light typically indicates a power mismatch or an unstable connection. Ensure the connected device’s power requirement matches the selected gear, then reconnect.

Q: Does the converter remember my last gear setting?
Yes. The device has a memory function and will automatically resume the last selected gear when powered on again.

Q: Which DELL laptop models are compatible?
This converter is designed for DELL models with a 7.4×5.0mm connector, supporting power inputs of 360W and below. For other models, check your laptop’s power specification before use.
